Performative sharing of research
a comment on dance
Atelier 214
Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder's 30th anniversary
12 November 2023
This performance consists of words projected on the wall, my body which is constantly dancing, a dough which is fermented to become bread and an inflatable plastic structure that moves due to warm air.

It is a performative sharing of my process during the 3-month artistic residency in LKV (Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder) and DansiT at Trondheim, Norway during autumn 2023.
During this artistic residency, I felt the urgency to understand further the promises and dreams circulating in the discourses of dance and choreography, how they are generated, what are they carrying with them and what they render invisible. How, even if we love dance, can we critically think about its importance in the Western context? How can we explore those issues with anger and tenderness and most troublesome how this can be danced and what kind of dance will be that? How can we rethink its historicity so we can think about our positionality here and now? What is the functionality of dance in the context of contemporary dance and its politics in the West and what have we been failing as practitioners of the field?
This performance and artistic process would not have happened without the support of LKV, DansiT and Nordic Culture Point.
